A friend passed along an article showcasing art made from books, and it is amazing. Definitely worth checking out the pictures!
But if you read the comments, so many people are outraged at the thought of destroying books.
Personally, I think that the art is a way to reuse books that are at the end of their lifespan. So many books get dumped in the trash after a library sale. Many can’t even be sold in their condition.
I just read an old copy of Sybil, which fell apart in my hands as I read it. I ended up recycling the pages as I read the story. What else could I have done with a few hundred pages that had fallen out of a book, that itself was falling apart? I guess I could have made some art!
Love makes books look like this. Love in the form of using them, reading them. So why not spread that love a little further by turning those loved books into art?
What do you think of this controversy? Is making art from books okay?
Thanks for reading,
