I was a little iffy about picking up Divergent by Veronica Roth. I love dystopias, but I was concerned about it being too “Hunger Games-ish” for me. I mean, I LOVED THG, but I don’t want to read the same story over again in a different series.
It wasn’t. Beatrice is in a “utopian” society where your character traits are chosen at age 16 and must be stuck with for the rest of your life.
But what happens when her simulation, her test determining which faction she will end up in, is inconclusive. . . with a dangerous result?
This book has excitement, drama, utopia/dystopia characteristics, a little bit of teenage romance, plus a super strong female lead.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the trilogy!
Have you read this series yet?
