Chelmsford Public Library

For about 7 weeks, my husband and I have been living in a town called Chelmsford, which is about 30 minutes outside of Boston.  I went to check out the public library in my town, and was pleasantly surprised!

I stood in the mud to get a picture of that flag flying, but nooooooooooo. Every time I walked away, the flag flew, but not while I was standing there!

They have a fantastic New Books section, too!!! There's also a local authors bookshelf in the room.

The book that sucked up much of my time at the library. . . I already realized it was one I needed to own, not borrow from a library!

I guess small town libraries can be just a gorgeous as the big ones, and more unique!

What’s the most unique thing you have seen at a library?

Thanks for reading,

Rebecca

  1. Ohh it is small, but cute!
Every year in my public library there is a bookmark competition for children and I like to see the bookmarks they create: they are exhibited for 2 weeks there.
It’s great when you see there are children that are users of the library and love to take their books full of pictures :)

  2. I love that you are featuring these different public libraries. Such a great idea and then the neat little features they have to offer! The metal detector collection is so proudly displayed and love the photo of the outside of the library even with the flag not flying : ) It’s great to live in America where books are easily accessible to anyone. Love it!

    • It is amazing!!! It’s sometimes strange to think that other in other places, libraries are not used or don’t exist. How sad! I love being able to show the big (like the Boston lib) and the small (like this Chelmsford one) because they’re all unique, and whether you have a big or a small (my hometown in FL has small), they all have something interesting to share!

  3. Gorgeous building! I can see Charlotte’s Web and The BFG in those drawings, Stuart Little too? Love the amount of drawings and displays that show the interaction in the library. It looks well loved.

  4. What a great library! The metal detector exhibit is really cool :)

I love visiting new libraries! I should make it a mission to visit all of the ones in my area, but there’s a TON of them! I only go to a different one when I’m desperate for a book and don’t want to wait.
