My husband and I recently relocated to Boston for a short, couple of weeks stay until moving on to the next location.
We went to Cambridge, MA, where Harvard is located. Not only is Harvard there, but they have lots of bookstores there as well.

Harvard Book Store as seen through a tunneled walkway (which was lined with bulletin boards that now hold my cards!)

Downstairs in the Used section of the Harvard Bookstore, the endcaps are all decorated with stuff people found inside the used books or book-related clips, many very funny!

Looooove the book F for Effort (about the “wrong” answers kids can give to test answers) and think this one is just amazing!

Sidewalk booksale money box – literally buy whatever book you want and then drop the money in the box! I donated but didn’t take a book. Love this!!!

Best. Booksale. Ever. Donate your books or buy a book using the Honor System! Run in the neighborhood for years!
Thanks for reading,

Thanks for posting the photos. They brought back some great memories of wandering around Cambridge from when we lived up there. The COOP was a great place.
It’s huge! We were surprised!
My favorite memory of visiting that area was when we needed to stop for some coffee in a cafe heavily populated by Harvard students. We expected each table piled with textbooks with working students, but it was when a Harry Potter book was just released. What we actually found was all the students with their pile of work getting dusty as they devoured the latest HP! It was hysterical and charming.
What a fun story!!!! I guess Harvard students love HP, too!
Man I wanna go to Boston! It looks amazing! And an outside bookstore run on the honor system – I can’t even imagine it. That would never fly in my area, I’m pretty sure that donation box would be stolen daily. Looks like such a fabulous place to visit!!!
We donated a little even though we didn’t buy anything to make up for if someone took one of the books! I thought it was a really cool type of bookstore.
Boston is a lot of fun but I advise you to go when it’s warmer!
The Harvard bookstore is such epic awesomeness…. Glad to see some familiar buildings in your pics
Where are you from?
I’m from The Bahamas but I was in West Mass for 3 years studying, during which I spent a lot of time visiting friends at Harvard
I have gone to the Bahamas a few times! Mainly on cruises since my home base is Florida. I’ve just been traveling with my husband a little which is why we’re up north.
Oh my, how I would live to go to Boston and Harvard!
Harvard really is beautiful with all of the brick buildings, and a good amount of bookstores!
I love every single one of these pictures.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
Oh you’ll need to go back and get Border Cafe (great Tex Mex/Creole) and then visit the Cambridge Public Library (it’s brand new and beautifully open). Not as fascinating as the Denver ones, but it’s still pretty awesome. (And I love Harvard Bookstore
)
Good to know! We are only in town until next Monday and then we’re off to a DC suburb for 6 months!
Oh wow. You do move around a lot! I expect a full photo essay of the Library of Congress!
Great idea, Geoff! I will be watching for the photo essay on the Library of Congress.
Rebecca, DC is going to keep you very busy!
Kendra, you can grade it!
You got it!
Here’s the FL scenario: You grade it and your pay will be 100% based on what I do, even if I couldn’t sleep last night and didn’t have a chance to eat breakfast this AM.
YIKES! Not in my personal life too!!
Okay, okay!
That made me laugh because for a second, I was nervous like I had an assignment to do!
And normally we don’t move ever, but with the program my husband is in, yeah, it’s been a few moves!
beautiful pics!
Thanks Mel!!!
Great pics!
Love that last photo especially, but yes to your comment about Harvard library – gorgeous building, well worth taking a photo!
The COOP was sooooo large! It was like an independent B&N. I was surprised! But I am sure you could find almost any book you wanted to read in there! I actually sat down and read a book about how you know your cat is trying to kill you. . . and I don’t even like cats!
Oh I’ve heard of that book. The interesting thing with that sort of book is how they can appeal across the board, no matter if you like the subject or not.
Very true! And it really was funny.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for stopping by!!!!
