You must think I’m some huge Mitch Albom nut (since I just reviewed For One More Day not too long ago), and in essence, I really do love his books. I think Albom writes amazing, short, easy to read novels that are incredibly inspirational and are a great break from heavy reads.
I wasn’t planning on reading The Time Keeper at this moment, but when I saw it downstairs in the sharing library in our building, I had to pick it up to read.
The Time Keeper is about a man named Dor who is the original creator of time. When he loses the love of his life and climbs to the top of the king’s tower (Babel), he is turned into “Father Time.”
After thousands of years of waiting, Dor is able to return to Earth during the present time in order to help two people: Sarah, a teenager who is dealing with what seems like the rejection of first love, and not dealing with it well, and Victor, a supremely wealthy, elderly, dying man who is determined to gain immortality, no matter what the cost.
The Time Keeper reminds us that life and moments in our lives are precious and not to be wasted. Stop worrying about time, and just live, enjoy, and relish those moments because eventually, they will be taken away from you.
What is an inspiring book you have read?
Thanks for reading,
